Long Causeway
Derbyshire County Council (DCC) started surfacing and drainage works on the
middle section of Long Causeway at Stanage on the 30th June. This work is
expected to take 3-4 months.
The route is closed to all users whilst work is taking place. This closure is in
addition to the 1.5m width restriction DCC already has in place.

Bradley Lane
Bradley Lane has been confirmed as being a bridleway, following a further public
inquiry. Signage is now in place advising of the legal status.
We have notified TrailWise (TrailWise - The National Catalogue of Rights of Way). Please also update your
maps and navigation systems. Bradley Lane runs from Pilsley to the A623.

We already know about and can't use Long causeway (Stanage) and now they're stopping all uses from using it temporarily, which will be interesting to see how the walkers react when the foot's in the other shoe .. or whatever metaphor is appropriate .. :)

But now Bradley Lane is made a bridleway so we can't use this any more. OK, it wasn't a 'good' lane, it was mostly tarmac with nice views, and only used as a cut-through between roads and other decent lanes, but it's still a Byway that's probably irrevocably gone.

Makes me wonder about why we care for the 'rules' when they're closing them anyway ...
