Annoying Blend Motor Problem

Following on from replacing all 3 blend motors, and the book symbol returning within a month. I was getting a fault for the right hand temperature blend motor stalling.

At the weekend I stripped it down to make sure then flap in the heater box is free, and that is all fine.

However on checking the faults now I am just getting a fault for the feedback circuit on the same blend motor having failed, so I dismantled the Blend motor and using then live data reading on my fault mate I can only get the pot on the board to sweep from 60 to 120%.

I assume that the pot has failed somehow, but does anyone know the resistance range the pot should sweep through ?

Ranger rovers.net has some good information, also theres a webpage from a guy in sweden ( I think) whos' replaced the innards of the blend motors - I'll have a look and get back to you , but should come up on a search for blend motors on your browser.

So after faffing about I just decided to order a new single blend motor, and guess what still got exactly the same problem.

Have had the Faultmate on and it still reports the blend motor being stuck at 104%

Any suggestions as to what to try next.

Are you sure the flap is 100% free movement?

I read on here about a 'Self Taper Screw' repair...maybe a search will result in something...apparently this trick stops the flap from sticking!
Glad to see peeps are still using my trick many years on.....

I can flick the flap from stop to stop very easily when the blend motor is not attached so don't think there is a physical problem with the flap.

Short of getting a spring balance on the flap then don't know how else to gauge if the flap is sticking.

Yes it is looking that way, noticed on a long journey today the frost warning seems to be behaving oddly as well
