Amr 2106

The AMR 2106 on my 93 RRC has gone doolally. I was bashing off the clutch pedal (converting to auto) and it started flashing the the hazards. And it will not stop. Have disconnected it overnight but it still goes when reconnecting..!!! Does anyone know of a way to reset it...I've been trawling the internet but no joy yet.........

Just to decypher...

The AMR2106 is the Remote locking Control Unit that works on the 418MHz frequency....

Have you tried pressing the remote fob button or turning the ignition key on??

Thanks Saint, I've tried locking and unlocking the door (CL no longer works) and turning the ign on and off. No joy. Unfortunately the fob was lost before I got the car..!!! I was hoping there was a reset switch somewhere....

Moral of this is ALWAYS disconnect battery whilst knocking things off with a big hammer.

Should know that by now but...goldfish bowl.....oh ! haven't been here before..!!!

Not aware of any reset switch....

If you have no key fob and CL doesn't work no need for the Control Unit...!!

Oh, I meant the Cl was working before the AMR2106 started acting up.

take it appart will be a "dry joint" on the soldered circuit bored

Well the soldering looked in good shape. I took the AMR2106 out of my 200TDi Disco and put in in the RRC. After a good start it also started to flash the indicators......!!!!! So put it back in the Disco and now that flashes the indicators....!!!! Good grief. Now I'm looking to find a way to just bypass it.........any ideas.....?

Ah well, I've been busy doing other things to the car and now the unit has started working again..!!!!! Why, well that is anyones guess..............

Suggest you start looking for broken/damaged/pulled wiring joints in connector plugs, general wiring, anywhere near you've been working and buy a new AMR2106 as well just in case....

Hi, did you sort this? I am having the same issue! Was fine now when you unlock it, the amr 2106 box just clicks and won’t turn over. Had a similar issue on a previous 300tdi so used a spider bypass and was fine but don’t seem to find such a device for a 200 ‍
