Hello All,

Dont really get over this side much as my main Land Rover is a Freelander, however for the past year or so my father in law and i have been doing up a 1994 Discovery 300 TDI.

It lived on a farm most of its life, and we bought it from ebay for £500. It has just about a full L/R service history and only a couple of owners. Its MOT and Tax had ran out but we bought it anyway and set to work on it. It had an inch of dust inside the heaters:eek:

Well it passed its mot last week with flying colours:D and just a few little jobs left now. Get the interior cleaned up as it is covered in dust and mud and also just tidy a few things up on the outside, like the bumpers which have corroded and source some new wheels.

I work in the motor trade and this scrappage scheme has been a god send. Today a miricle happened.:D

We took in part exchance a lovely low mileage R reg 300tdi with all the extras, nice alloys, running boards, unmarked bumpers and trim and all important unmarked interior and seven seats.:D

It seems such a shame it is going to be scrapped but not before it is stripped down and all the nice shiny parts find there way to our 300tdi. I cannot wait.

Well, anyway sorry for the boast but i need to ask a question.

We are going to fit the dickie seats in the rear, however i need to know if it is a straight forward fit?

Also has anyone fitted these and did you have trouble with your insurers and or dvla. is it an easy process to get the extra seats added to the log book?

Thanks in advance

Yep done this a few times now. All the fixed nuts are there, some with tape and stickers over.

If your pulling them out of the donor car you will have all the bolts etc so no worries. The wall/door card will need cutting to let the hinges stick through, or if the donor is same colour nick that too!

My insurance is trade and covers any mods so not a problem there, hoever it is a factory spec so I doubt it will cause any problems.

DVLA just need calling and all is done. Or wait till it is MOT'ed and they can do it also.

I know we're **** taking bastids but thats no reason to not come on here much.

Sounds like that part ex came at the right time, post some piccies for us of your progress so far. We like piccies.

Thats not boasting thats just bloody handy, well done.

Thanks for the response,

I will be over here a lot more, especially when she gets up and running, more than likely, all the problems will start then!:D

Well here's some pics of the Disco, after an inital clean the paint work seems very good under all the dirt with just a couple of small scabs which i will eventually sort out.

Plans so far, ahead of the big swap over on friday are, chaning the complete front and rear bumpers. The ones on the donor are immaculate!

Full interior swap including dickie seats, carpets and most of the trim, may swap dash depending on how hard it will be as mine suffers from the dreaded curling. Need to have a look at rave and see if i can find out.

Will also be swapping the alloys, we currently have a set of RR classic alloys however the donor has nice standard disco ones with nearly new Cooper Tyres on.

Finally will be swapping the the insulation on the bonnet. Thankfully nothing mechanical needs swapping. Well, not that i know anyway.

Will post more pics when she is done.

Tax and insurance at end of the month and then off we go for a bit of greenlaning and possibly a trip to the showin Northampton in July, if not will have to take the Freelander!
