ame home from shopping today and next door popped round, some guy in a red transit sat outside my SWB "for ages". she took the reg number and i have checked it on the DVLA website......yep no such van on record. called local old bill they checked it and same thing, they cant do nowt!

now im sitting here feeling down

take measures to slow them down. park another car infront of it, disconnect the battery, dont keep much fuel in it, use a steering lock, let your tires down, anything to put them off!

G

have a security device that goes over the clutch and gas pedals and hooks over the steering wheel (does that make sense?) had to give the shootie a few years ago, no where to store it :frusty:

put a sign up in the window of yur motor, sayin "yu in the red transit,i have a gud picture of yur face.and if this motor gos missin, yur the one il set fire to!"

ah you got a clutch claw :D they are a good deterrent, i was looking at them when they first came out at the billing show about 10 years ago, what i would do is make it obvious that you know summats up, they will be watching the car for movement i.e. when its in and when you are in etc start leaving it parked so its hard to get out of your drive.

the other think i find is remove the fly lead off of the starter solenoid so when you turn the key fook all happens so even if they hotwire it it won't start

clutch claw thats the one lol, only issue i see is if he is driving a van on dodgy plates the old bill wont be able to track it! Dont have a drive way :frown: she sits outside on the road, have my works van parked up close to the front at night and during the day as i'm in a dead end people tend to keep an eye out sort of thing.

well pop out in a moo and do the lead's, as for leaving only a little fuel in...come on it never has much in after a days drive lol

Turn the front wheels to the kirb so they have an extra task if nicking it.

We had similar a while ago .. scrotes drove into school car park (I'm a caretaker) stopped right next to Disco looking in etc and went away. Next day did same, which worried me a bit .. youngest son saw them, not me!

Week later we were to be away for a week with the Disco left outside and school looked after by a relief caretaker, so not as security conscious .. so I just jacked front end up, wheels off, stood on axle stands .. ;)

Took ten minutes, but it didn't get nicked! I reckon if you did it a few times they'd think there's summat wrong with it and not bother anyway .. ;) Hence why many people find mine stood outside with the bonnet up, or a wheel off and on an axle stand, or just up on ramps ... psychologically if the scrotes think it's falling to bits they won't be quite as bothered to nick it .. ;)

got me worried now there was a white transit sat outside mine earlier just starring at me motor....a mate of mine had a switch fitted to his that killed the power that got broken into and cos the little scummers couldn't nick smashed ripped and broke everything they could! ive always said if they want something that bad there take it anyway and if it does go missing do you want it back in pieces or the pay out?
