Alternator issues

heyy all when i run the engine the light doesnt go out completly all wired up good connections, but the lights not going out just dimming. would you say diodes :/ if so what would be a good uprated replacment alternator. for a series 3 200tdi 109, running standad series alternator on series alternator bracket

before you change it check the output 13.8v - 14.2v
but i must admit it does sound like its dead

Symptomatic of diode failure - there's a chart in the handbook explains which one if you're interested. I think any of the Lucas ACR series would be a direct fit, they come in different outputs, or refit the original 200 alternator - I presume it's got more oomph than the standard series.

got another Lucas ACR of a early defender , and that solved the problem ,
