Hi all. please can you help me. ive just brought a 2010 defender and it has standard rims with worn tyres on them. id like to up grade but have heard different stories about what alloy/steel rims fit. please could someone help me as the misses managed to destroy one this morning ! lol (can you get run on flats!)ha. i need to resolve this issue asap. thankyou

Basically any defender wheel will fit your tratter also any alloy designed to fit a disco 1, range rover and disco 2/3/4 will not fit . Tyres up to 265 75 16 will fit a standard alloy without problems. What type do you have in mind?

thank you for that. im not sure.i used to use this site alot a few yrs ago. i built a 90 v8 84 model but had to let it go due to life "stuff" ! ha have decided to go for the more modern landy this time.
to be honest im not fussy as long as there tubless and plenty of tread im. looking at a set of steel modular 16" rims with good tyres but there of a range rover classic 93 model its a K reg

I would personally go with "boost" style alloys if I was to get some. There are plenty out there especially on ebay.

Also "freestyle" alloys which are on mine are very cheap to buy a set of, but if yours is a 110 they don't have the correct load ratings.

Disco one series are 200tdi and 300tdi two series are td5 which although use five wheel nuts they're spaced differently. Are you buying them brand new or looking at second hand ones of eBay?

it has been a mildly painful day ! 4x BFG tyres and 4x steel modular s to suit them
got the tyres for 108.33 each+drat ! so not to bad

Bear in mind there are legal implications to putting minors in side facing seats. Also it is not recommended to use seat belts with them either.

Law says it's ok as long as they have priority over adults for the forwards facing passenger seats.

It's illegal to use any form of child restraint or seatbelt on sidefacing seats. and illegal to fit a sidefacing seat in a 2010 model.

So if you had 3 children so long as you put one in the front passenger seat it's ok to put the other 2 in the side facing seats?

Interesting !
so ill have to replace the center seat that was removed and i should be back within the law ?

do you know where i can find info on the law on fitting seats etc. surly if it passes an MOT its deemed safe and legal !

Ive missed this site, great stuff :)

Yes, Though IIRC toddlers have to be in proper seats??
