You'll see 30 MPG on the motorway, if you keep to 60 MPH. Around my Cornish roads, mine was returning between 15 and 23 MPG, depending on how I drove it, but it averaged out at 18.9 MPG over 30k miles.
It's over in time, but well under in miles.
Maybe change them, if you decide you can cover the rather high fuel consumption.[/QUOH mlll

Sorry to be a complete bore but one more question about All terrain tyres ....would I be able to put 235/60/18,s on instead of my 235/50/18 rims .... I’m so sorry but I just don’t get this tyre thing!.... will they fit in the wheel arch without rubbing on anything! Think I may have found that size!!

The largest size you can fit without spacers is 235/55/18, which will give about 5mm clearance with the spring cups. Going larger will cause rubbing on the struts, and or arch liners, and also makes the speedometer display a slower speed than the vehicle is going, which is illegal.
You can get some really good AT tyres in 235/55/18, but not cheaply, however they'll be premium quality tyres, with outstanding grip in all conditions.
I'd go for something like Michelin Latitude Cross in 235/55/18 which are about £120 ea all in at the moment. Or Cooper Discoverer ATT in the same size for a similar price.
The Michelin are good in all conditions, on or off the road, dry, wet or snowy. The Discoverer ATT are good off road, and in snow, and in the dry, but not quite so good as the Michelinon wet tarmac. However the Cooper tyres will do about 50k miles, but the Michelin will do about 25k, which is why I used Cooper tyres on mine.
Those would be my top choices, as my preferred Yokohama Geolander AT 015 aren't available in the 18" wheel size.
