all of a sudden, loss of boost

not having much luck with my 90 this month, turbo went on old 19j, so out it came and in went a rangerover 200tdi. out it came cos crank seal went, it was put in and finished lastnight, but whilst out, i lost boost, like if the actuator fell off, but no, its still on, vacume pipes are present and correct, all intercooler pipes are tight............

so how else could it not be boosting?????

i havent checked the turbo yet for being cracked or not turning, will do that 2moz.

any ideas??

Leaking intercooler? Small pipe to turbo actuator off or split? Until you know the turbo is spinning then it could be anything.

I bet there is a split in the 90' turbo pipe on the under side

how much?

at first, i removed the filter hose, whent to spin the turbo, and it didnt turn, so big panics, and took the alternator out of the way to get at the turbo abit better (rangrover engine) on closer inspection it was ok, checked pipes for blockages, all fine, then whilst cursing, and wondering what was up with it....there it was, pipe from turbo to fuel pump was melted to the exhaust manifold, so a repair to pipe and re-routing solved the problem, simples!!
