Hello I've recently renewed all my interior in my 99 td5 from grey cloth to black leather including dashboard. Everything went like a dream however my girl went out in it today and when she came to go back into it the fob doesnt work and the alarm just goes off. (I've tried a spare key still the same) I've been down to where it's parked and can't work out why. I've rang the local dealer and they gave me the emergency code for the my vehicle what you use the key in the drivers lock but this did not seam to work, it bleeps once which in the book reckons it's the wrong code but land rover reckon thats the code for the car. I don't know where to turn next any help is greatly appreciated

Your not parked in an area with high wireless traffic ie' mobile phone mast, supermarket carpark with their wireless security systems are you.

Other than that did you interfear with the alarm ecu or the receiver above the rear head lining when carrying out your work..

And with the access code you have to enter it strickly by the book it's one of those iffy Land Rover things my Honda has an immobiliser but doesn't have the need for a code.

Firstly - are you sure its the factory fit alarm and immobiliser, if not the Factory code isn`t going to be much use ?
If not , try the key plus code again
Finally , have you put fresh batteries in both fobs and tried re- synchronising them to the car again, following the instructions in the handbook ?
If none of those works, and it was working perfectly before your re-trim, then its a question of looking at what you might have disturbed.

Just a quick reply I towed the disco in today and the bat was totally dead I clipped on a boost battery and it started and fobs worked, ran it for 10/15 mins and it was starting etc perfectly then the immobiliser light came on and wouldn't start tried shutting all doors and locking/repo ing them and back to square 1,
Its definatly a land rover alarm/ imobalisor. The only thing I've done is ran a live feed for the electric seats and telys/playstation but don't see why this should do anything. Was going to put the feed to auxiliary /ignition but my thoughts were if the kids are on the p/s and I stop they'll loose there game progress lol. Going to disconnect this feed and see if it makes a difference.
