Dear folks,
I finally got to the bottom of what was draining my battery every week. (1996 90 300tdi) It was the alarm.
It is a Laserline that is completely unmarked so I can't tell you the model. The battery had parted company from its circuit board at two of the three points of soldering. The reason I know this is the friend who I asked to do some current drain diagnosis took it off and showed me.
I re soldered the broken points and went to refit it. There is a 16 pin plug and socket and also a seperate, single black wire that he had to cut; so I armed myself with a connector block ... and couldn't find it.
What is (was?) this wire and where did it come from?? If it be a natural thing, where do it come from, where do it go....
So until I find out, I have a stone dead Landrover. I could try putting it back on without that wire connected and see what catches fire I s'pose...
Any ideas greatfully appreciated.
