The saga continues, I had the alarm fault come up over the winter and thought it was damp getting in to things so I cleaned and dried the motion sensor and the ignition barrel as suggested. Hasn't been an issue for 5-6 weeks until today, put the key in and beep, beep there it is. So, after fiddling around it appears the alarm fault happens even when the key just touches the ignition barrel and doesn't even have to be inserted. What would create this fault, the car starts and runs absolutely fine, so it is an annoyance rather than anything else.

Cheers
