Hello all,
I was hit on the front o/s of my 1995 Disco 300tdi the other day by a Beemer driver. (He was written off by the way) The hazards came straight on and the key fob to activate/deactivate and lock the car no longer works. It seems that the hazards are on due to the alarm being activated. When I take the one of the alarm fuses out then the hazards stop..!!!! with the fuse back in however sometimes the car will not turn over but will if I take the fuse out...... The car still runs but has anyone got any ideas as to sorting out the fob, locking issue etc. I suspect something has been damaged in the crash.....Any ideas peeps??
Before I get an auto electrician out???......Just read another thread, could it be the inertia switch?? Not sure as the car still runs??

The crash activated the inertia crash sensor so hazard flash and the doors unlock if locked resetting is by turining off on off the ignition switch.
Powering down the alarm ecu on the two button fob system requires the fob to be re-synchronized with the ecu. All this info is in the owners hand book.

Thanks,
I will be with the car again tomorrow. My fob only has the one button. Will tis make any difference?? Do you have to do anything to the inertia crash sensor to re set anything. I have already turned the ignition on and off several times but have not touched the inertia sensor. Is there a set sequence??
Thanks again
One other thing....The steering wheel is out of alignment....what is the likely cause....bent steering arm or track rod arm? The wagon did take a fairly big impact right on the wheel and front wing.

Thanks for that Peter,
Alarm dramas now sorted now just need to put on salvaged wing, front bumper and steering track rod......and then back on the road.

Thanks again Ron Reece
