airbag warning light

It has come to my attention that with new MOT's the airbag systems are now a failure if not working. my SRS light was on last year so i removed the bulb, will this fail the MOT with no bulb? and is the SRS warning light meant to come on when you start the engine and go off a few seconds later?

Im Gregg from surrey, i have a 1995 300tdi disco and its due an MOT in a few weeks. let the welding commence.
so its a yes to fail an MOT with no bulb and a no to when you start the engine the light doesn't go on.
do they test the system to see if the light works then?

Yes the SRS light is tested for illumination at the MOT, no bulb no light

Now to give u a full reply, as so as soon as the ignition switch is turned to position ll the red SRS will display in the dash and extinguishes after 5 seconds or so, u may also hear 3 distant beeps from the right side of the dash at the same time.

As you see there isn't a connection to starting the engine so it was a NO

With the ABS light you will have to reach a speed of 5mph before it extinguishes.
