Air Conditioning

only just joined and already finding stuff out my v8 petrol has the book sign on the hevac i suspect low gas as the car only did 900 mile in the last year before i bought it. cant say its getting cold at all im having it checked in a couple of weeks and regassed if needed between me and a mate we have 4 cars being checked by a mobile air con guy who does work for another mechanic mate

fingers crossed its just low gas

my todo list

1) preventative maintainance /replace water pump,viscouse, belt and pullies DONE
2) service the engine DONE
3) replace all the brake discs i want grooved and drilled ones
4) new rear air springs
5) O rings to heater matrix DONE was leaking when i got it
6) fix the cruise control
7) im sure there are some other things its a range rover will get back to you on my list lol

Low gas will not bring book symbol on.

Also, they rarely just need a re-gas, it's usually the condenser that's fubar'd

Drilled and grooved discs are a wast of cash, better spend the money on replacing the front airbags as well as the back.

OK, so since I opened this post, better finish with an update.

So all the reverse engineering of Condenser and Pipes is all still fine, as is the Compressor.

The mechanic (who is a chum), got the gas leak sensor probe and it detected the gas leaking from the dryer!! Annoying eh? So he is going to take the bumper off next week and see if its the joint or the dryer (which looks pretty corroded!!). Ebay on stand by!!!

Then another regas!!!

Great time, not much of a holiday as it's a second home so lots of work in the garden, painting and general maintenance. Lovely weather,36 in the shade and not very windy so didn't have to clean the pool every day. Good food, good wine, very quiet and relaxing. Roll on 5 weeks tomorrow.
