I remember looking on this site a while back at a thread that mentioned using an air con pump as an air compressor.
I have a pump off a pugrot lying about its a sanden 7709, the one that was mentioned on the thread was off a range rover, I think it might have been a sanden I cant quite recall, any of you guys know.
The general idea was to take the pump apart, do summat to a valve and fill the 'ole lot full of grease, and connect an old k&n to the inlet.

I have an old air brake compressor off a bus braking system, it has a little 10ltr storage tank, operated by an air conditioning pump clutch/belt set-up, works bloody real, handy for inflating tyres. I have heard about the air conditioning pump set up...but isnt an air conditioning pump more about the pressure it puts out, rather than the quantity??

Yeah the cfm of an air con pump is less than the air brake compressor, I was thinking though the air con idea is smaller, brackets are available to fi the 300tdi engine, and it has a electric clutch negating the need to take the drive belt off to save fuel when I'm not using it.
Dunno if an aircon pump would run a impact driver long or not.
Edit: done some digging and found this, I hope the mods dont mind me quoting another landy forum, look at this though all the gen needed here:
