Have installed a Kenwood W6027 that was working perfect and has been for the last 3 years in a variety of different vehicles.

Fitted it to the Disco2 with a brand new ISO harness..

No power to it at all......

Reinstalled the standard LR tape deck, Works fine....

Im at a loss. Fuses are fine, Ignition is on when testing it..

Any ideas anybody? Thanks.

Does the harness match up properly as in cable to cable ? You'll have a live feed as well as a signal feed, one of the two might not match up on the new harness

Thats what i thought initially, There is the thick green wire and an earth on the disco which meets the red live and the earth on the harness but the yellow live on the iso harness meets a thin purple wire on the disco.. I didnt want to start chopping things up, thats why i bought the iso plug, I usually just butcher the things to get it working.

What do you reckon? Thanks.

No idea I have a 300tdi and I just plugged the original into the back of my new Pioneer unit and it fired up straight away. If you cant get it to work call an auto electrician, I use Phil Bensons in Kendal when I need serious stuff done but most of the little things like electric fan, lights, winch, I'll do myself

Find the two vehicle supplies (permanant and ign switched) and match them to the head units two power supply inputs, you can still use you ISO connection just remove and rearrange the two wires into the correct positions.

Or take the patch lead back, it my have been wired wrong or it's not suitable for your model of head unit.

It was a cheap £3 ebay jobbie. I have the old harness for the head unit which is butchered but the i already matched the wiring positions and they are all correct. I'll test em now. Thanks alot.

Strangely, there was only one live on the Disco, A switched live (the thick green wire) So i jammed the red and yellow wires together (as you do) on the iso plug and it works but its not storing the radio stations into its memory. It'll do i suppose, What a difference though! From one old crappy speaker in a MK1 mondeo to surround sound !

Cheers lads.

I had the multimeter on em and there was only one with power. I'll give the fusebox a look over tomorrow. Cheers for that.

red and yellow wires....one is to power the unit(switched) and one should be perm live to keep the presets.
