As you might've heard I had a CV joint malfunction (completely collapsed and wedged the steering) while away a couple of weeks ago.
I got it put back together at no small expense - but that got me home and back to work.
I don't think it's been done as well as I want it, second hand CV joint, bearings, etc. And it's now started 'clanking' so needs some adjustment.
I now want to do it proper. New bearings, CV joints on both front corners.
Also, the OS caliper is fubarred, disc warped and the NS in't much better. So while I'm at it...
So, questions....
Any recommendations for who to get the bits off-of and what brands to go for? I'm not looking for super-dooper EBC performance, just hard wearing and reliable. I've used 4x4 mailorder for bits before and they were good, reasonably priced and got bits to me nice and quick - which is important because I want to do the work this weekend. But are there any particular brands to look for wiv regard to CVs, bearings, calipers and discs (I got some pads when I was in Brighton but didn't have them fitted 'cos of the wedgied caliper).
Second, anyone in Dorset fancy coming to give me a hand in exchange for beer, cider, home cooked venison, biscuits, cakes and cheese sandwiches? And copious amounts of tea..?
Here's hoping..!
