Advice Please

On my 04 TD4 5 dr i have bought a replacement solenoid and door catch, it is for passenger side rear. Could anyone give advice/hints & tips on changing units, and special tools required etc.

I am looking to change myself hopefully won't be to painful, but i am no mechanic!

only special tool is a torx driver to undo the bolts which hold it to the door skin.

open the door and remove all trim etc, including plastic membrane.

partially undo the three torx bolts holding it to the door skin

put your hand inside the door to feel where everything is. trace rod from door lock button and unclip

remove torx bolts the rest of the way with one hand inside the door, then bring the lock assembly to where you can see it.

unclip cable from door release and cable connector

reverse process for new one.

Oh, and keep your mobile within hands reach for when you get your hand stuck in the door so you can ring fire and rescue service.
