Advice needede please.

When i lock or unlock my disco 2 v8,the imobiliser light doesn't flash.It doesn't flash at all,does this mean the imobiliser is turned off.I'm trying to program a new key fob,i need the imobiliser to be working or i can't match the new fob.Is it possible the imobiliser is turned off.

Did you try locking it with the key?

The key just turns round and round,i'll have to strip the door and have a look.The fob works fine but,like i say the immobiliser doesn't flash.

Found out why my key won't open the door,i took the door card off.Someone smashed the glass at some time before i bought it.When they put the new glass in they must have took the actuator off,when they put it back on they didn't put the bar back in that goes from the key hole to the actuator.Bought a used door hanble with the part i need,when it's fixed do you think i could reset my alarm and get the imobiliser light to flash.Some replies would be nice,thanks.

You can synk a fob regardless of the immobiliser's setting as long as the vehicle is not immobilised cos the central locking works either way, there can be various options for the alarm/immobiliser some of them only for the LED's behaviour... the only way to see or modify the settings is with nanocom or similar(dedicated tester). If it's immobilised you have to remobilise it with EKA code then work with it

The light might be disabled, that synking device works with vehicles on factory setting which seems that your's is not so you need to plug in a nanocom or similar to check the settings

When i removed the door card,the bottom of the door was full of glass.The window was once smashed,do you think it might be something to do with that.

Fixed my door,i can now lock with fob or the key.Still cant sync my new keyfob.Its something to do with the immobiliser on the dash.Looks like i'll have to buy a nannocom.Is there any cheaper than this what can do the job.Ps got the EKA code,but i,m not sure if one of the other owners have changed it,i'm not gonna mess with it until sure.i dont want to immobilise it.
