Advice needed

Evening all,
I am looking at buying a Discovery to take out to Skiathos in Greece next Feb.Are these cars up to the job.The island is very hot and dusty in the summer and cold,wet and muddy in the winter.Any advice with the pro's and con's of these cars would be appreciated and what we should look into.We have about 6000 pounds to spend.

You'll get a fair bit of Disco fer 6 bigguns & I reckon you'll find it a lot easier to source parts. Just have them mailed out from Paddocks.

You could get a good Disco fer a lot less then 6K then spend the rest of your budget kitting it out to cope with what you're going to throw at it. It'd be my fave, but I dunt have any overwhelming desire to hang about on a slitty forum.

Thanks Marcus,I haven't got any real preferance.We want the best tool for the job.Have already thrown the Cherokee out so we are slowly narrowing don the field.Obviously people on this site will big up the Disco,but surely someone can give me advice on reliability,dodgy models,re-calls and any usefull mods.The Pajero site has been good,so far......

May get more response by posting something more specific in the Disco section.
