Adrian Flux RIP OFF

I love how people take offense by insurance company quotes and consider themselves f**ked over by a high price. All you are is a collection of information with weighted mathematics. The mathematics get changed on a monthly basis taking into account the current statistics of that period and any core company underwriting principles. You don't have to take the offer :D

Poor claims handling on the other hand . . .

The comment about best value, rather than the cheapest insurance is bang on. You wouldn't choose the cheapest builder and expect the best job would you?

A Flux quoted me £270. tescos quoted £207.
Adrian Flux quoted over a grand first time and a bit lower next time, thats full no claims and clean licence at the time, over sixty with over forty five years driving, 40 of those on HGVs.
Cant get any less than 400/500 quid must be cause I leave it on the street.

Heres a question, as Adrian Flux is watching.

What is the difference between commuting to the same place of work everyday for your entire career and commuting to different places of work every few months i.e a self employed tradesman who obviously will not work in the same place indefinitely.
Why do you insist that the tradesman take out business cover as opposed to social, domestic, pleasure and commuting and not make that clear until after they have foolishly taken out the policy?

I eagerly anticipate your reply .

got any more detils than that?

just really poor service , nobody seemed to give a S..t they cocked my claim up big time .. left hand didnt know ,what the right was doing... i must say in 24 years of insurance companys i have used , they were the worst. thats all i have to say on the matter ...:)

How convenient, they have now ****ed off.
Word of advice to everyone, DO NOT get insurance with Adrian Flux OR Flux Direct, they are a bunch of lying, cheating b*****ds and I hope whoever runs the company contracts cancer of the stomach and is not diagnosed until it has reached at least stage 4 and die a slow, painful, lingering death.

B*****DS

Sorry Ratty, forgot this wasnt anything goes

as said ive been with adrian flux since i was 18 so that will; be 10yrs this yr !!! my clio insurance has gone up from £735 to £1049 with increased no claims and the disco has gone up from £550 to £649, i have enquired with brent acre and the clio insurance is £649.99 with all my mods declared and the disco is a shade over £400.......best thing is i have a work colleague has the same discovery ok 1 yr older big woop has just gone with flux as a new customer and hey presto its £200 pounds cheaper than mine ( he lives 1 street away )...so much for loyalty bonus.. :(

Is it just me who doesn't see anything bad about £500 on a Landy then? Maybe I've just been ripped off so badly in the past the slight rip off now isn't as drastic, but I've been on Tesco for the last year, a nudge over 1k for full comp living in a safeish area. This year they wanted just shy of 2k. I expected a slight rise after I lost my noclaims for scratching someone's car in a car park (schoolboy error I know). But by 1k? Ha, screw that.

So I did a gocompare/meerkat and the best they came up with was 950 and change with Admiral. What I found interesting is Adrian Flux was on that list with 1,200. I just used the linkage on here and they came up with near as makes no difference 490. Think I'll be phoning that number for the "personalised" quote. Maybe to everyone else on here that is a lot, but it is 1,500 less than Tesco. So to me that is a good thing.

[edit: Oh, now I get it. AF is the first insurer I've used who haven't given me third party driving someone else's vehicle. Apparently being 26 is too young to be trusted. But what can you do, eh?]

[edit2: For reference, after they personalised it, the price went up 200 wingwangs.]

If its any consolation I am currently on £1750/y with Aviva full comp with business. 21 and no NCB, only 2 years named driver on two defenders. Did a go compare type thing and it went down by 1k for next year!. Just a shame aviva wont allow any mods basically.

What the hell have you lot got? Gold plated landys? I was whinging that my insurance went up from £210 To £270 and I'll be whinging even louder if it doesn't go back to £210 this year!

Ive not a problem with Adrian Flux (insured with Equity Red star through them), we have just had a bump and our Discovery written off, its taken just over 3 weeks to get it all sorted, courtesy car arranged through Adrian Flux's claim dept (ULR) got us the car the next day.

Cant fault them this time, our policy has already been adjusted and were still around £400 for the year on our new discovery.

Re: insurance quote oddness

My Disco 1 3.9 V8 had been SORNed for a year. The day I went to pick it up from getting its MOT I rang Sureterm at 4pm. I got a quote of £480 fully comp. I told them I would go and pick the car up first and call them back to confirm as I didn't want to pay in case it had failed. I picked the car up and rang back at 5pm the same day and was quoted £440 - despite giving my quote reference from an hour earlier!!! Hey ho!

I was insured with 2gether insurance and they cancelled the insurance after denying receiving requested information which was sent by post and email, and several months later have not made a refund. A.F. on the other hand gave me a competitive quote. (Not taken up yet as the vehicle has been off the road for repairs).
