Was just wondering if anyone here who is insured with admiral has had a chip filled in with autoglass paid for by admiral?
I am fully comp with a single car policy so does that mean they will pay for it to be done without me having to pay the excess and it wont affect my no claims bonus or future policy price?
I basically want a testimonial from someone who has done it and then Ill believe it, because it sounds a little too good to be so simple...

Wasn't with Admiral at the time but did get a chip repaired at Autoglass.

What they dont tell you before repairing it is -

If the chip is more than a few days old and the screen has got wet, then 9 times out of 10 you will still see the chip, had they told me this I wouldn't have bothered.

I did get the screen replaced later by Admiral but went to National Windscreens for the above reason, cost me my £70 excess.

Windscreen replacement doesn't affect no claims.
Windscreen repair doesn't affect excess.
If in doubt ask the Windscreen company.

Thanks man, Im not gonna be put off by the fact the chip is visible but will it be as strong as before? Is it worth me doing would you say or should I just get it replaced? Because I got a quote from them before and a new screen fitted for a disco mk1 is £490!! With no insurance involvement...I just dont wanna be left with a bill like that at any point?

the chip I had was almost in my line of sight but not enough for an MOT fail.
after getting it repaired, it annoyed the hell out of me coz I could still see it. A year later when I changed to Admiral I was getting some paintwork done above the screen and the garage advised that the screen would have to come out.
At that point i organised for replacement.
Cost me £70 from admiral.
Since then I've renewed my insurance, which came down a few quid this year.
So all in all a happy bunny.

Hi I'm currently with Admiral, had my heated windscreen replaced in December, cost £75.00 excess and was told doesn't affect no claims when I inquired.
