The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is not aware of any self-adhesive number plates that meet the British Standard requirements.

I think the 1st quote refers to the updated BS reg. for numberplates. It was updated when they brought in the new rules to try and increase Camera revenues. Also ANPR camera's need to be able to read them so they can track you as you travel round the country.

The new BS applies to plates made after 1st April 2001.
"It's been on there like that for over 10 years officer / MOT tester (delete as applicable)"

i made some for mine to fit on the winch bumper, theyre only 2 inch in hieght never had a problem. if anyone needs any let me know

I just got new plates, I did ask for those stick on ones, But the guy said they.er not legal, cos they are not reflective. So i got the regular ones.
that doesnt make sense. If there made to the same standard then they are reflective(but not legal cos i had a kosher magnetic one, but cos it was magnetic it werent legit)
