I want to fit something double-bed style on top of my Defender 110 CSW: not a roof tent but something solid, a sort of added-on-top sleeping compartment, I could call it. What is available, what might it cost?

Why "not a roof" tent?

Boogers link would be spot on, as they are not traditional soft skinned tents/covers.

And these make you look like a Frenchie :D But worth considering ?

OI!

I have seen the conversion you are talking about on a Swiss 110 when we were down in the alps. Its a little higher than standard but works a treat and would be much better than an RTT as you can remain inside the vehicle. I think these are mainly made by German companies. I will see what I can find for you now.

Do you mean something like this?

They are made in West Yorkshire about 2 miles from where I live by Safari Equip.

If I remember correctly costs are about £5,000 + £1,000 for fitting if required.
