Saw a heavily modified defender plow into the back of a mercedes which was then shunted into a skoda octavia in Alnwick, Northumberland this morning.

It was an enthusiasts vehicle... lifted, covered in stickers and had a hefty looking winch on the front.

I will go take a picture of it if it is still there.

Needless to say the land rover came out on top. The mercedes was crushed to buggery and the skoda suffered pretty badly as well.

Land rover suffered a bent grill and bumper... couldn't really see anymore damage than that.

nope... just some hurt egos it seemed...

Everyone was at the side of the road writing down details.

I'm guessing mr defender was at fault, it is a 30mph road, there is a hospital turning at that point.

It looked like someone turned to go into the hospital... defender did not see the traffic stopped and ploughed into the back of them.

If your going to have an accident... it was probably the best place for it... lol

here are some pics of the landy... the other cars had already been towed.

sounds like he werent watching the road rather than the tires being at fault.Still looks to be quite minor, my landy looks worse than that and i aint crashed it!

Same tyres as me it looks like...
that's why I always keep my distance and drive slowly, don't trust the tyres in case I have to brake hard.

Well the depender looks ok.I had a l200 drive into my defender with an A bar and the grille was more damaged than that.Closing speed bout 15mph max.

although them HD bumpers are good.Lifted my defender with a dozer on mine, no winch though it would have been trashed.
