abs fault help!

hi i have a 95 300tdi es discovery and every now and again the abs warning light stays on. when the warning light stays on the abs pump keeps running even when the ignition is turned off.! if i unplug the abs pump obviously it stops running , then if i connect it back up a short time later everything is fine for one day or a fortnight then the same thing will happen! any ideas? cheers in advance

Possibly a sticking ABS return pump relay,which may not show up a fault code.At the age they are now it would be good practice to order up and replace the two,(From memory - without having a wiring diagram to hand.)relays before worrying about doing anything else.

If the light stays on sometimes then there must be a fault and it will be stored in the ecu. Use this document to read the fault codes..http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.martin/discovery/abs diagnostics.rtf
