OK, that's annoying! Since owning my RRC, the drivers seat switch hasn't worked fully - the base goes back and forth and tilts, but the back rest only goes back and not upright again! This hasn't been a problem as I leave it where it is - until reaching round to the back seat my leg caught the switch and moved the back rest back. Now I cant move it upright again!!!

So, anyone know if you can move the seat back manually? Or failing that, got a working drivers side seat switch they would be willing to sell? It is from a '91 Classic, no memory function.

Cheers!

there is a big thing about cleaning the switches on rr.net but I think you know that.

I think its run on cable drives, if you take the back off you may be able to do it manually with a drill but I am just guessing here.

I am sure someone will be along to correct me.

Feel lucky , its way better than what happened to me the other day!

Yeah I had a go at spraying some contact cleaner in there, maybe I need to go a bit further - TBH, if I can adjust it once, that's all I need!! Once it's set I don't need to move the back rest, only the base back and forth for the missus!!

Do tell?!

that makes mine looks even worse. Cheers mike.
drivers only goes back and forward. Passenger goes up and down.

You're welcome :) But you've got two Rangies, so between the 4 front seats they must all go up, down, back and forth and tilt front to back?! :D

lol me and K-man couldnt make one good classic between the 5 of ours lol , let alone his two :p

The pleasure I had the other day was that my heater matrix exploded and flooded the car , it was running out the door like I had been wading lol

Bypassed it now and after a sleepless night thinking the headgasket had blown and or the valley gasket had gone and a quick call to stu and some spannering and bleeding she seems all ok, but FFS on the first day of my Christmas hols

Cost me a bloody fortune in antifreeze to

Thank God its ok now though :D

well I took out the carpets and sound proofing mats both sides and dried them in the house to make that stink of antifreeze

and its had a dehumidifier running in the car for 3 days and extracted about 2 pints of water so far lol.

Fan heater coming tomorrow to add the the mix lol

on the upside the 18x12 inch plate I welded into the drivers footwell the year beore last still looks very nice with no rust on it :p
