Have just taken off all the after pump gubbins to replace the P-gasket on my 300, strange thing is, there was no gasket to start with. Just a lot of Hylomar.

That doesn't really worry me, but what does is the huge rust pit that has formed nearly crossing the entire area of the flange. What do you reckon I should do? Fill it with Hylomar, use a gasket and fill the rad with RADWELD?

Regards,

Pete

clean it out really well and make up with some epoxy metal ,use later tin p gasket with a little silicone sealer either side

Had some previous owner ,dispence with the p gasket on mine . Bodged with silicone sealant :mad2: . lost the coolant and head gasket as a result .
was going to suggest chemical metal too ;).

cheers Mike
