I have been on here now for a couple of weeks and now hooked. I bought my first 4x4 ever, a 300tdi auto in November last year, really just to test the water and see if I liked it, bearing in mind I have been into motor sport for a big time of my life and own a sports car, not the hair dresser variety but a 3 litre twin turbo kicking out 400 bhp, so used to a bit of excitement. The Landy has been exceptional even when a large Lunar twin axle is put on the back, which I think is a bit unfair for such an old girl, so I have bought a TD5, again an auto and I am hoping just as reliable as the 300 tdi. I will let you know, I have not towed with it yet so all is to be 'discovered'. I live in Bristol.

Hi oldzed welcome to LZ , what motor sport were you into, I spent a few years in rallying , building and looking after them though not driving  still good fun out on events.

Hi Dent, I was into rallying and when that got too expensive I moved in to rallycross, i.e.rough ground circuit racing. I now just do track days but even that is now expensive as it takes its toll on the motor. A recent engine rebuild with turbos set me back £6K albeit new pistons, injectors, bearings etc., The Disco has completely changed my outlook, and the missus, she hates the pocket rocket now and want to travel solely in the disco, she feels safer she says, what she really means is it drives a lot slower and more sedately. ha ha.
