I have studied this forum in depth and have been amused, astonished and very impressed with the helpful attitudes shown by the members in trying to help each other to maintain their beloved Land Rovers in good order without resorting to the horrendous costs involved when visiting 'The Dealer'.

The 'Rave' downloads from green oval are priceless reference sources which all members should have access to and encouraged to study.

Scanning through the threads I see similar problems cropping up regularly and after a lot of 'going round the houses' a solution is usually found although by this point the individual concerned has often spent lots of time and cash changing pumps, filters, sensors and various other components sometimes visiting 'The Dealer' for a good ripping off.

Surely with all the experience gained by the members there is now enough data to compile diagnostic flowcharts to cover the majority of Freelander faults.

With a bit of organisation it should be possible to assemble a kit of sensors/solenoids and a fault code reader which could be loaned to members on deposit on a sale or return basis.

Any comments?

P.S. I have driven Land Rovers since 1969 and now run a TD4 which IMHO takes some beating when running properly.

Good idea Dann.
A wee bit too technical computerwise for me perhaps,
but your main problem might be getting some help from the 'Senior' Dinosaurs on here, who think the main agenda is to 'try' to be 90% funny and 10% helpfull.

Oi, Pikey, we int 'seniors' no more, we're uvver fings, in fact any uvver fings wot we want ter be. You, on the uvver hand is still a 'senior' cuz yer a tightwad who int coughed up! :D

I coughed up on the 8th using a PayPal E-Cheque which according to PayPal takes 7 to 9 days to clear and on the same page it says it will clear on the 19th Feb Fook know where they buy their calendars from :mad: :mad: .
