I'm sorry but if we live in fear of possible ammo for the bobblies then there is no point writing about your days out and any photos could be used against us.
THEY say we cause the three foot deep ruts and erode the rocks etc, that we all know is due to other reason's. I don't see how posting a picture of a landy stuck on a few lanes is so dangerous.
If this IS the case should this forum not be a members only forum and not public? Or private sections so we can hide our crimes.
I just think were walking on egg shells too much, anyone that wants to look at the facts can see its the dicks that go off piste, mud chuckers, farmers machinery, water erosion that are damaging lanes and the simple "we don't want you here" that needs addressing.

Walking on egg shells may be required wen there is a risk of the antis getting their way. They see a land rover and assumptions are made: all modded land rovers are like greshams, all trail riders are on the dakar, look ive googled it and found some pics...

Its worth treading on egg shells IMO as people use what ever they can. when people see any one having fun they want to stop you having fun any way they can :(

Now if it was stuck in mud on a lane and caused damage recovering then yes fair point. The only reason it was stuck on the second lane was due to sliding on the snow/ice which couldn't be helped. No chance of getting stuck on there in any other conditions.

Oh so your 2.5ton vehicle was out of control?

See wot i did there

A bigger problem is not enough people are willing to stand up and fight (this is a national problem) you only have to read the news the doo gooders and PC brigade are left to there own devices too much in this country. The whole point of that day was a peace full protest and to then (if you wanted) to travel some of the lanes that we are fighting to save.
Too many people moan about things that happen when we've all had the chance to fight for our rights.....sensible use of green lanes. I could however see your point if it was a you tube video of some nutters going mental trashing lanes.
Just my thoughts.

cant see anything wrong here, the silver d2 is mine on chapel gate, didnt expect to be going laning only went to show support for the protest and ended up takling the bbc camera man and reporter so they could film one of the lanes they are trying to permanently close, if id know i would have taken one of my 90s and done a few more lanes with craig and big Al, nice to meet you by the fella`s.
Its a shame more people didnt come to show there support for the pastime we all love that is green laning, instead of just bending over and taking it in the arse by the anti`s or just hoping others will do have a day off work in the cold for the cause, but hey ho some people are doers, others arent, I would sooner be out there fiighting for what we believe in than sitting winging at those who do

Wasn't my motor ;)

Yes we'll done

Don't want to get involved in a personal spat....(well not this particular one anyway :p) BUT.......

Coming from the protest with protest stickers on the Landy (I know, not yours ) you do need to be extra careful. As organiser of the pie run this is goes double as the effects of what you do....good and bad....are magnified.

Please tread very carefully

Well put TC.

I think people are too used to just rolling over and giving in. That is one of my big hang ups with this country. We can all see it going down the pan but all you do is moan about it. Unless we do something about it there won't be anything worth saving.

Given the sensitivity of the area and focusing on the issue brought about by the protest then perhaps pics of a Landy that slid out of control is not the best representation

I dont assume anything BB i am sure lots of peeps do far more than myself, but i cant see the point of slating folks for persuing there past time
, every single post asking what do i need to go green laning gets answers of advice telling not to go alone and to take lots of recovery equiptment, but no one ever says "but dont use the recovery equiptment or else you are doomed" i dont know why people have to have a dig at folks just because they wouldnt do things that way. The instruction at the protest was to get out there and do as many lanes as posible and show the anti`s that we are not lying down and giving in to there every demand, and distribute as many leaflets as possible. I skided on some ice going to a job in the van the other day, should i have stayed at home and not ventured out? the only risk on any lanes that day was to your own vehicle, i took a bog standard d2 on road tyres on a very rutted start of chapel gate, no damage to the lanes, when we reached a long steep climb we decided not to continue and turned arround, the bbc got some fottage on the short section we drove and it was aired on bbc`s north west news program that night. It would have been great to have attempted the climb, i may have done in one of the 90`s as it has front and rear lockers and extreeme tyres so might have made it without doing any damage, but we decided the best option was to turn arround.
