Hi All,

I'm a newbie so apologies for any obvious ignorance / posting in wrong spot.
Been giving my 1989 90 a good service as it was stood for 2 years before I got hold of it; I've come to do what the Manual calls the Swivel pinion oil change / top-up (CV on older types?) but cannot find the oil top-up plug.

The manual shows a different set up, mine only seems to have one square-headed plug-the book shows upper & lower plugs; am I missing something, or do you just drain from somewhere else & top-up from the one plug as with Axle Diffs?

Is it the swivel balls your on about mate:confused::confused: You'll have to ignore my ignorance of the correct terms for things;) If it is just put a sachet of one shot grease in there and forget about them, apparently it's what later axles have in them from new and why there is no drain hole. I think thats right anyway, if I'm wrong no doubt somebody will be along in aminute to abuse me.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm sure you'll get it cheaper than that, this is just to show you what your after, hope that helps pal.;)

Correct. The later swivel housings have no drain plug and are designed to be filled with grease and left alone. Hence the term "one shot". Take the plug out and dip your finger in - if it comes out grey then you have enough grease in there - if not top it up. You will probably find that a single sachet is enough to top up both sides if your swivel seals are in good condition. DONT put oil in there as you will dilute what grease there is.
