Iv just bought an 03, 90 which has very low mileage and as far as i know has never been off road.
Before i bought it i tried low range and and the diff lock everything worked as it should although the lever was really stiff to operate.
NOW though...
I can get low range no problem but when i try the diff lock it seems to go in but the light dosent come on the dash.
Any ideas is it a common thing when its not been used??
HELP,
Cheers Dave

very common, you can lube linkage and check diff lock operation by jacking up one front wheel, it wont turn far if lock is engaged but will when not,if you do a search youll find some pics and info

Actually I've just remembered an issue I had with mine.

The small foam covering which goes over the the leavers and sits just inside the tunnel below the rubber gaiter, can if pushed down too far prevent the leaver fully locking in despite it appearing to. Try removing the foam and engaging the Dif. It's really a simple quick test, 30 seconds at most, just lift up rubber gaiter and pull up foam.

I had this same issue with mine when I bought it. It turned out to be one of the spade connectors of the diff lock sense switch on the box that had snapped off. You need to remove the carpet, sound proofing, gear/trans knobs then tunnel and you will see it with two wires attached. Check that there is a circuit between the non black one and the dash warning light and the black one and ground. Check that the connections are good (you might have to cut off the crimps and fit decent new ones. If wiring and connection is good it's going to be the switch so just unscrew it and refit the new one then refit the connections.

Weird.... It's seems to have cured its self.
The whole lever was stiff to operate when I first got it, selecting low and engaging diff lock was difficult.
With a bit of use its freedoff and the light works every time now.
Cheers for the advice lads,

Cheers for the advice lads,

Mine was literally an inch thick in solidified mud/oil mix which had gone hard. You may want to clean it all off anyway as it is probably caked in a similar manner.
