....whether County springs are the same as standard ? Recently acquired a nice 300 County to replace our 200 ditto but find the ride a bit harsh with its 2" lift and HD springs, so I'd like to get it back to stock.

Our local garagiste, who's much into Landies himself, thinks that County springs may be softer than normal - anyone know for sure ?

Thanks,

Anthony

Certainly were softer on the 200, not sure about 300, but I'd imagine so. My '87 One Ten SW has soft ( standard ) springs with self-levelling unit, much softer ride than HD springs, but sh*t for loading-up with any proper weight!

Range rover classic springs are lovely and soft :)

Apologies to the OP but td5landy do you remember the part numbers for these RR classic springs as I've heard quite a bit about this idea and would like to try.
blue/white and blue for the fronts and green for the rears?

My 89 CSW rides like its on air compared to my 97 with a lift kit, I was very impressed. I just bought an 97 three door which has a lift kit and I feel like I am driving on the rims.

I think I will look for some stock springs and shocks, dont care for the lift and wont be off roading.

In fact I might go with TD5landy's idea and go with the NRC 4304 spring set.

Thanks for the info, everyone - sounds like those RR springs may be the way to go for a soft ride. The 200 was great, but the new 300 too hard and crashy over potholes.

Like Barbados, I'm not an off-roader other than out of necessity, so am all for creature comforts !

Thanks for posting the question and to the guys who replied.

For me the comfort is a bit of the who reason why I want a softer ride. Its easier on the vehicle, less cabin noise, it has to carry my giant scale RC model airplanes and I like music and HAM radio.

I intend to glue some dynamat on the floor and install carpet over painted plywood flooring at the back. I will add some foam and build a roof lining all towards noise reduction.
