Hi,

Have decided to sell my 90 truckcab, its got a 200tdi engine which has just had head skimmed and manifold side refaced, new head gasket, new cambelt, new brake master cylinder, engine mounting replaced, 6 months tax (from first december) and MOT (about 11 months left or a bit more) All work on head carried out by proper craftsman and refitted by qualified mechanic in his spare time, work has cost aoun Sailed through MOT with only indicator bulbs being wrong colour and indicators stopped working due to bad earth, no advisories on MOT. General grabbers on front and A/Ts on rear all with lots of tread. Diff guards front and rear, few dings in body work but nothing major. Was going to keep it, fit power steering and hard back to it but have run out of funds and that is the reason for the sale. Chassis and crossmember good, couple of tears on seat squabs. No idea how to upload pics PM me if you're interested.

i got a 1993 truckcab a couple of months ago for £1700, with factory fitted 200tdi, oh and its got power steering, lol

Its 1984 and looks like I was robbed in the first place then, bought for 2700 in August and spent best part of 700 since. I'm not trying to rip anyone off, if anything it looks like thats already happened to me, judging by comments so far i'm the mug. I'm just trying to get the hard saved cash I spent on it back out again. Will edit the post to read offers then.

Yeah you are the mug in this case IMO

its a buyer beware stance, you buy as seen if you're not happy don't buy it and always make sure you give it a thorough check over first

If it was worth £2700 to you then you bought it at a price that suited, however I doubt many of us on here will value it at more than that

Fair play, I should have researched it more but since i bought it off a trusted member of lz i thought that would be enough. lesson learned.

That's cos everybody on here is tight & want everything for nothing.
I'm shore there is someone out there that will pay that kind of money, it just won't be on here.:D

how can you all be so dismissive when you've not seen it ?

3K isn't a bad price - depending on condition

thanks Sean and everyone else with decent comments, I was going to ask the mods to take this thread off, I'm only trying to sell something that I cant afford to keep, anyone looking will only read the negative comments made so far and run a mile!

Don't know how you can say £3k isn't bad for a 1984!! Without PAS and a disco 200tdi conversion engine.
That is daylight robbery.
I paid £1350 for mine with all paperwork and everything worked and all body panels straight!!
Friend paid £1800 for a 1986 with a bit of kit on it and 200tdi
Another friend paid £700 for a 1987 with a little bit of kit but rotten bulkhead.

So can you explain how £3k is a ok price?

lets look at it another way - how can you put a value on a vehicle you've not seen

even the biggest muppet here knows condition is everything

Erm - landrover defender 90 | eBay

And you tell PA Blanchards or Witham's that they will never get 3K for a 90 without PAS or a 200TDi ;) Saw one on PA Blanchards the other day for 4.5K PLUS the VAT

A fool and there money is easily parted....

Don't remember him saying its had a new chassis in its life or a new bulkhead and while we are on the subject new doors, as every man and his dog knows they will not be as new from 1984!!

I am starting to think your friend sold him this 90 and you are justifying why he got robbed
