6x6 T/box

I'm after a T/box and G/box for a F reg V8 RR 6x6 firetender, ashcroft transmissions say they can't help as it's a 6x6, The T/box has a PTO drive coming out the back for the water tank pump, Does any1 no if the base T/box and G/box is different in sum way from a standard RR (besides the obvious PTO drive) as i'm a little confused as to why ashcroft 'cant' help.

From what I can see on Ashcrofts site they do the LT85, LT77 and the R380 but no mention of the early RR LT95 4spd boxes as is on your 6x6.

Maybe you could get more info from FC101 webbies?

should of put this bit in first post,,,,, it has a 3.9efi with 5speed that looks just like a LT77 (Rev gear being push away and up towards the dash)...i no it would of been a 3.5 to start with but didn't realise that it would of been the old 4spd as standard. will call them back tomorrow and make sure wires haven't been crossed,,,, thx for that info

Even if they couldn't do a replacement box, couldn't they rebuild your existing one?

When i spoke to Dave Ashcroft on a complicated matter he was very knowledgable and is widely acknowledged as teh gearbox man for any green oval stuff

Top tip speak only to him and give hima very clear explanation of what you have and what you need.

He was very helpful with me.

Have you tried the specialist 6x6 clubs (?) as they are well into TACR's. Look up 'six by six appeal' web site.

6x6 300 tdi defender was standard spec.the trick is in th difflinkage judgeing by the look undwerneath i remember.We had r380 onit.
