Thanks Vivnap, that's a good bit of advice, will give it a go and see if it fixes the problem. If not - I will take it down to Land Rover locally a bit later as I desperately want to drive it all over the Surrey countryside. :crazy_driver: Afterall - that's kinda the point innit!!

Worth a shot - thanks matey :)

your planing to take a series into a dealer ?

you do know they'll spend an hour trying to find where they can plug their computerized diagnostic equipment in, and then when they can't find it they'll charge you 90 quid plus vat

Really? Can't they just do it the old fashioned way and get underneath it and have a look? Surely you don't need a vomputer to tell you what's wrong - I thought it would have been obvious. I have a mechanic friend who has said - if they tell him what the problem is - he will fix it. I just want it to work :(

that is very true - when I had mine - the local stealer refused to look at it - the reason being - they had no staff qualified in it!!!

all fookin bit part replacers nowadays - no proppa mekaniks!

rant over :bolt:

what have you actually tried to do ?

i'm assuming you've read those links posted before ? - seeing as it's just levers and cogs there's nothing at all complex about it, and it's often just from lack of use that things get stuck - getting the GB nice and warm by going for a long ish drive then blating everything with a release agent normally does the trick

if you take it to a dealer, and you manage to find anyone there who isnt a teenager, they are more likely to say you need a new GB or other expensive part

you'd be better off looking out for a small ocla indi LR garage - who is likely able to resolve your problem within a hour - or at least give you an honest quote for the repairs

even better find a local landy man who will fix it for some beer tokens

how far are you from basingstoke, am sure daft wouldnt mind a visit from a blue eyed blonde

Thanks JimBot - will have a look. This is my first Landy so it is all new to me. Although my Dad had 1 when I little :)

I will have a look in the yellow pages, there must be something locally. Eversly is about an hour away and Basingstoke is 45 minutes, maybe longer in my lovely Landy.

don't ring dunsfold before you go there - just turn up as ask if one of their spanners can have a quick look as your having trouble - i'd be supprised if they dont fall over backwards trying to be helpfull

bet it's years since there've seen a female up there (dont let that put you off)
