Thats very nice for them, but they are still talking crap, and if you believe it then you ought to do some more research and find out why.RPI have done more with V8's than you or I have had hot dinners Eightinavee!!
No axe to grind,I just hate to see quotes posted on the net that have no proper evidence to back them up,granted the 94mm bore V8's suffer loose liners/cracked blocks - often as a result of overheating issues. The point is they were badly made, and there is not enough material to properly support the liners.A stronger engine would tolerate some abuse, but these engines cant take it.Lp RR's cooling systems are often ignored by the time they get into 3rd or 4th ownership - exactly when they need a new rad, hoses, matrix O rings and non leaking LPG vaporisers/pipework.Yes, they are expensive, but back in 93 when I had changed the head gaskets twice in a week on my 3.9 Vogue and "Slipped liner syndrome-or whatever else it's called was unheard of because LR were keeping it quiet, they were the only people who put me in the picture and I had no reason to doubt their diagnosis. I shelled out £1000 for a short motor-it hurt the wallet bigtime but the problem was sorted. They were most helpful.
2 years ago, I had the same problem with the 4.6. I shopped around and got a new short lump from Autopost which has also been superb.
It's easy to say they are talking crap etc.,etc., but back it up with FACTS not innuendos. The Company has been around for years, supplied the V8's to TVR and I speakas I find.
I can only assume that you have a personal axe to grind with them unless you put some hard evidence on the forum.
NO, I am not connected in any way with RPI, just speaking from my experiences of them.
?Come on eightinavee, show him some graphs like you did me when I tried to tell you a diesel had more torque than a V8.........
Bloody Hell - never been accused of having style before, only a miserable git.Sorry, I just checked old posts and the thread I'm thinking of was with Teflon. Your style of posting reminded me of him. Sorry.....
