4.0 HSE running rough

Hi Guys, proud new owner of a 2001 P38-bought running rough, would not rev past 3000rpm but much better since fitting new MAF sensor and plugs/HT leads. Now only problem with engine is running slightly rough between 2300 and 3000rpm. Accelerates fine past this range. No fault messages showing.
Any ideas??
Also whine from ?Diff?transmission, heard most clearly when not accelerating and not changed at all by shifting from drive to neutral. Thoughts and cheap solutions please!

is the whine only when moving or does it do it stationary? it could be alternator if its hapenning when stationary

Hi .

Apb trading do a diff treatment for about £10 made by Wynns i think. It's how i traced my whineing diff which i was sure was the back and it turned out to be the front. Just poped it in one at a time.
