4.0 Does it need to be tdc

hi again im the process of removing my heads off a 4.0.
A silly question probs but does the engine need to be tdc as the cam is not actually in the head. not worked on this type off engine before thanks.

not for removing heads as dosent effect timing,cams in block so simple
