theres a light on my dash, doesnt work though, presumably it aint connected :)

I like it - I got 300Tdi CSW and my light don't work either.
It used to till I did some welding near the gear box crossmember. Must have fried that wire.
I only put a tenner in at a time (To poor you know!!)
Does me about 35 miles
10.00 / 142.9 = 7.04 so there is 7 litres to a tenner.
7 / 4.5 = 1.5 so roughly 1 and a half gallons to a tenner.
35 / 1.5 = 23.3333333333 = about 23 miles to a gallon I'm getting
If there's an easier way to work that out you can request a SSAE

No. of miles covered/No of litres put in = miles per Litre
miles per litre x 4.5= miles per gallon

I jot down me trip miles on me fuel receipt, then every so often do a calc over a few fill ups

Wish there was a like tab on this site. Personally, from owning Discoverys, I do think my Defender is a bit thirsty. But she makes me smile just driving her. My Disco was brilliant on fuel. My fender isnt, my fender makes me smile more though! if its not leaking oil, there is no oil in it! If you get it stuck! Your not driving it right! and if it don't clunk or crack!, there is something wrong! Thanks for all the input.

45ltr =10Gall. 1.42 x 45 = 63.90 /10 =6.39 a gallon.

My defender is a 110 TD5. She did 320 miles to the full 70ltr tank. Nearly all of that was on the motorway at 60-70 ish. Didnt thrash her at all. So, she is thirsty on fuel. I have changed the fuel and air filter. Is there anything else that would make her so thirsty? And no, I dont have a fuel leak. Thanks again.
