hi all,
i was just on the web and came across a company claiming bhp and touque increases on the 300 and 200 tdi.
here is what they said....

Stage 1
Re-set of turbocharger and fuel pump, this provides a 25-28 bhp and with greatly improved torque and improved driveability. The MPG of the car is not usually affected and in most cases its improved.

Whats the chances that this would work???

i have'nt heard of a turbo charger being "re-set" whats involved?

would this be somthing i could do myself or a competant mechanic for me??
cheers

all they do is wind the boost up a bit and tweak the IP

there's plenty of info on here to enable you DIY

to do it properly you need all the bits that go with it!
the more boost the more fuel you need.the more fuel you are putting in the more air you need to burn it! IE: intercooler/ air filter and then you got to get it out the back,, IE: de-cat exhaust etc.. depends how far you want to go? if its an early 300 you can just tweek the power screw and adjust the on boost diaphram wich is simple to do and makes a difference without adjusting turbo.;) if you do go adjusting the boost then you need a boost guage to set it properly. and keep an eye on EGT

heres a simple way..

Turning up the pre 94 Ram diesel injector pump

well mines a late 300tdi R reg. ive got a decat pipe, the egr blanked, stainless backbox, pipercross panel filter. was thinking of a mid box replacement but i dont want it too loud.
i cant afford a front mounted intercooler at the mo but would like one asap. just thoght this might be something i could get done or do myself which is a cheaper option.
any ideas???

Saab and sherpa intercoolers are supposed to fit I think I have read elsewhere. Gettting a larger intercooler is a good start.

I have a 300 tdi EDC with an allisport intercooler and chip, ITG panel filter, EGR removed, decatted, single box stainless steel side exit 2.5" exhaust

I dont really think its worth all I spent playing and tweeking. If I could turn the clock back 6 months would have had a nice holiday or saved the money for future welding instead ;)

Simple cheap stuff that I have read in the past to try

Blank EGR
Fuel filter and clean out sedimeter
Check lift pump
Clean out intercooler
Clean afm (very carfeully I used a cotton bud on the wire) specially if you use an oiled panel filter as the wire gets oil on it then crap sticks to it

depends if its auto/manual air-con or not because of the oil cooler and the air-con fans etc wich means more work in doing it.. i just had the replacement 1 from allisport as mines auto with air-con,less hassle!
mines non edc and im very happy with the results with the rest of the mods. pull off is mint now :D

mine is manual, and no aircon.
just looked at the saab intercoolers they would need quite alot of pipe work mods to fit or is there a certain one which would be better for the 300tdi???

hi i got a 300tdi i converted my self i just getting some custom radiator and intercoolers made i will be trying out this weekend,
i turned my diesel pump up 8th of a turn and adjusted turbo i have no lag at all :)
