300tdi Dual Batteries

Hi

Im think of setting up a second battery on my 300tdi disco as i use a lamp quite a bit running of the car and some times the battery can drain, also if i leave the disco for 6 days its stuggles to start sometimes.

i was woundering if i can set up a second car battery that will charge up with the main one but once the engine is switch off the second battery is used (using new sockets in the disco), but if i ever need to i can also use the second battery to start the disco (using a switch to change over or something like that).

the second battery is juct a normal car battery thats about 2 months old and hasnt really been used, is this ok to use?

if you wire up your 12v sockets to the second battery you'll never be stranded mate!
