300TDi dash into a 200TDi

Has anyone ever fitted one?
Can it be done?
What is involved?

not that familiar with discos but surely there cant be a big difference is there?

Major job, methinks........ was bad enuff gettin at the imobiliser spider when I had to do that - bits of harness, tiddly hidden screws, ventilation bits, fragile plastic thingys....... blurry nitemare.

Can be done but you need to get the donor car as you need to cut off and re-weld mounting points ect. Then you may need to get gauges recalibrated with particular attention to the speedo because IIRC the 200 is cable driven whilst the 300 is electric and the list goes on as you also need to fit the same heater and control units ect.

I have thought about doing the same to my car and have the tools/know how but I am unsure if the effort is worth it, a complete home made custom dash would probably be easier.

tiz a lot of work, to get the radio to fit nice, then?

maybe make up a dashbox out of fibreglass that sit on the flat but and then fit radio in ?so it level with the speedo box etc to the handlebar on passager side etc
