Hi guys. I have a battery drain showing 0.3 amps which I think is 300mA (correct me if im wrong). I thought id hit the nail on the head with your posting on SLABS ECU but having pulled the fuse and relay for the abs the drain is still there. It has only let me down the once and now after I was able to jump it and get it close to my house for a long charge it starts every time. However, I am struggling to build my confidence again as ive only had the disco for 2 weeks and am just waiting for it to happen again. it came with a fist full of receipts one of which was for a new battery from 2 months ago but the battery looks older than 2 months and was disconnected when I first went to check the disco out. I have arranged to take it back tomorrow cos it has a warped exhaust manifold which they have agreed to fix and will mention it to them then. So getting to the point, will a fully charged, new, heavy duty battery stand a drain of 300mA or should I investigate the drain further? Many thanks in advance for any thoughts.

start removing fusible links one by one while watching the a-meter and report back on which one the drain goes away... start with FL1 and unplug the alternator...this kind of drain can be generated by the alternator which if has one or two diodes gone in the diode pack it will still charge but give a drain

I've got a similar issue as this. Got the disco 2 month ago when it 1st happened and garage took the car back in could not find any issues but put a new battery on. Been running fine till last week when it needed jumping off and and been fine since but I believe it's still got a drain some were but will give the advice above a try

just got my disco back from having a warped exhaust manifold ADAQUATLY repaired and was able to pull some fuses again while I still had day light. what started me off was as I was looking at the fix on the manifold I could hear the "space invaders" sound people have posted about coming from a block with pipes I assume is associated with the ABS. I pulled fuse 11 (I think) and it stopped and didn't restart when I put the fuse back. I still have the 300mA draining though. I was under the impression from other posts that if it is a faulty diode pack then the drain would be closer to 1amp. Light failed me at that point so back to google and forums :) many thanks for any thoughts.

not necessarily...it could start from 200mA depends on how many diodes are shot in the pack... but if are more than 4 it will not charge enough, there are at least 56 different ways(others than a "serious/total" failure) for a diode pack 'failure'(it has 8 diodes within) without even notice a big difference in the charging voltage but when it comes above 2A it's a total failure and it will generate mainly AC which will light up the warning.

I'm not saying that's the issue on yours i'm just saying that it's a possibility which must be ruled out properly
