not enough to anneal it but it will have to get quite hot to make a difference imho

all other methods haven't worked so what have you got to lose?
 
I'd get a stronger bar and try the starter again, my mates was tight ie broke a bar got a better bar and tried the stater took 4 goes tho. If that fails then get a bigger bar, or hammer
 
Low range drop in 3rd gear and hang off it ur using the clutch to lock crank against drive line. That's how I did mine dead easy with rad left in and no coolant drained
 
sorry crosed wires,ive tried the putting it low range and i was standing on the bar so thats 14 st on it still no joy,but just had a thought need to find a mobile tyre fitter with a 3/4drive air gun, failing that welding a builbers spike to it.
 
ATS man with inch drive air gun got bloody nut off, and what a sight when I opened the timing case, the belt was only half the width with the rest of the shreaded belt filling the case, that sorted now on with the "p" gasket.
 
Well done, shame you needed ATS to come to the rescue though :eek:

Be sure to loctite the bolt properly and do it up to specced torque of FT as no doubt you may not have a torque wrench big enough to get it correct ;)
 
I got the dog nut off easy, but getting the ferking pulley off was another story even with a mm to go it took huge force to pull it off. If yours came off easy i reckon it must have been off before, if so it might make you want to have a good look at why the belt is shredded? My belt was ok after 100,000km plus and did not have the mod LR did to the pulley to stop belts shredding.....so its still got old style pulleys with a new belt....but maybe I am lucky....

It did have the old style pulley so hopefully it's bin sorted, any body out there tensioned up there cam belt if so what torque wrench did you use
 
I think most people adjust cam belt tension by feel I think I just checked I could twist it 90 degrees using finger pressure on the longest run.May be there is a more scientific method.....some one will no doubt pidt up details if so.

So you have bought a cam belt kit with an upgraded pulley included in it? I wish I had done that)
