300 parts on to a 200?

The Syncromech in my gearbox (2nd gear) has gone, which means I get an annoying noise in 2nd etc, I've quite possibly got a 300 to break, so was wondering if I could swap the boxes? Mine seems lower geared too, tops out at 70/75

yes you can swap it just bolts in ,youd need diff lock linkage ,and swap speedo gears if you used 300 transfer box ,there wont be noticeable difference in ratios ,thats done in transfer box

Ok thanks chap, I was told the bell housing was different, and I'm guessing I've a transfer box from a Defender.

it is ,its shorter to make up for longer length of gear box rear extension housing which has reverse as well as 5th gear,so both boxes end up the same lenght

Cheers for the info, guessing they bolt into the same place, all mates up to the engine with ease? Will the diff lock linkage be from a 300? I plan on using the transfer box from the 300 too, and I think i need a new speedo drive as my speedo bounces at low speed!

swap speedo gear first they are different ,300 wont take a cable ,and can sticvk in output housing

my fender will go past 75
