here in wales, coracles are tax free already

If I was you I would not be letting those bastards know that.

It wouldn't take long for a Coracle Tax to be set up.

When I get in charge, my first new tax will be a HORSE Tax.
HORSE TAX - Minimum £500 per annum per horse.

All Landrovers will be Tax Free, on condition their owners agree to carry basic recovery kit, and use it to help keep the traffic moving in winter.

If this succeeds in being debated it will be the death knell of any exemption. The only reason it exists now is it is under the radar. The government wont / can't afford a rolling exemption so will take the opportunity to kill it completely and possibly charge more for older vehicles on a green banner. I have been told this by a reliable source. There are 11,000 turkeys looking forward to Christmas out there.

That's basically the response others have made. "my car is younger so what do I care if there is a risk it will kill it completely". Lots of people forgetting that there might be a day when they actually bought a pre - 1973 vehicle. so f off yourself.

I've signed it. I have another modern car which I only do about 1000 miles per year in and that costs me about £230 per year as well. I'm being stung twice!
My company car is obviously also taxed. I think I'm already making a very fair contribution to the pot hole fund.
In the interest of helping to preserve classic vehicles, I agree that tax exemption should be on a rolling basis

Of one thing we may be very sure, and this is it:

whatever they do, if they do anything, the motoring public WILL PAY MORE over-all.

They don't even pretend about parking charges any more - it's a TAX, and actually it's all set up to MAXIMISE PENALTY TICKETS, because that is where they make most money.

There are better ways to save £250 a year, such as reclaimed oils for fuel, don't smoke, no gambling.

dont have kids, live in a shed, cycle, walk, wipe your arse with moss, start wearing a seat belt, make your own beer, fix your own car, bin the mobile are all ways i save more than £250 a year, but give me a chance to stiff the government out of another £250 and im game.
aint gonna happen though.

Well yes, I agree, but the plain fact is this - the government has no money.

Every penny it gets has to come from us by way of TAXES, so I do my best to avoid spending my money on high-tax goods, tobacco, alcohol, betting, and even fuel. I make good use of the BioDiesel and WVO system.
