Evening chaps and chapets. Not posted for ages but i've been lurking!!:suspicious:

Finally took the plunge and bought me a Rangie!! looked at 4 others before buying this one and i've got to say i absolutely love it! Even though its tugging at my wallet already! Bought with inactive suspension and it looks like the rear passenger bag is knackered. That said it seems to lean over to the passenger side evenly. Its a hard fault as the lights are all off. Its getting diagnosed at my local independent Landy specialist tomorrow so we shall see.
The guy i bought it from had taken out a warranty on it and between 2011 and now its had, a refurbed box and trans cooler, eas compressor, alternator, various bushes and arms and new pads and discs. Also has a full service history.
I believe the colour is epsom green but i may be wrong! Needs a few wee scabs tidied but apart from that she's a looker!!
One question to ask, being an auto when its in drive and you apply the foot brake do they all seem to fight against the brakes? My last car was an auto 525i M sport and it didn't do this but it had nowhere near as much torque as the Rangie.
Also could anyone tell me if the quarter panels are aluminium or steel?
I hope to be a fairly regular contributor from now on as i can't not have a wee project on the go or in the pipeline as regards my conveyance!!

Paul:D

Put a magnet on quarter panels if it falls off they are aluminium. :D:D

I found out exactly which parts of my Disco were aluminium using a magnet. Didn't intend to though! I bought one of those H4H magnetic car ribbons to put on the Disco and it wouldn't bloody stick anywhere :eek::eek:

It should not fight against the brakes. If the torque convertor is not locked up, the revs should drop to idle when you lift off below about 50mph.

I think i've maybe described it wrong mate. It drops to idle perfectly.
It sounds more like brake vibration. It had been sitting for around 6 months with the od trip round the block before i bought it. I'll get it checked tomorrow.
I shall get the magnets out!!

What size wheels you rolling?

The TD6 has a vibration issue with larger rims, this is due to diesel knock vibrating the car, and the lower profile tyres not damping the vibration sufficiently.

Many reports of it and posts about it!

Also at lights etc. knock it into neutral and save the box from stress!

Saint, its on Factory 19's with Grabbers so there's plenty meat!!
I've been flicking it into neutral just to be safe.
Will have an update later on once i've had it checked. Here's hoping she's a keeper!

I'm on 18s and get the occasional vibration, depending on position of steering wheel (almost full lock is biggest culprit). It's one of the beast's foibles , that I have learned to live with, as the remedy is simple, move the steering wheel a fraction of an inch! :)

Thanks for the Replies guys, especially yours Saint.
Took in to Greenbank 4x4 yesterday and there's nothing wrong with the box at all! It was a combination of paranoia and the vibration from the big diesel! (relaxes sphincter!)
The suspension though is a different matter! everything was reset, calibrated and checked to which it seemed fine but it only lasted an hour and the error message popped up again so its booked in next week for the guys to go through the whole system.
Hopefully she'll be all sorted and i can get her looking her best.

Jesus H Christ!!! Dropped it off last night to get diagnosed today and the suspense is killing me!! :violent:

Still heard nowt!!
As a slight change of subject guys, wheres the best place to purchase RAVE from?

Well its not the bags or the compressor! He's gonna dig in properly tomorrow morning. Apparently its all happening in the N/S/R corner!
Reckons a crossover valve, sensor or a corroded wire. Should hopefully find out tomorrow.
